1.Welcome to week #2! Some organizations have a merit performance approach where increases and bonuses are typically given to seniority and how long one has been with the organization. On the other hand, there are some that are more focused on a pay for performance structure, where increases and bonuses are given to those who perform the job well. There is a tendency among businesses today to use incentive pay plans over merit or seniority pay plans. Which of these plans do you feel is the most effective? Explain why you feel this way. 2. Whether you have noticed it or not, you all have been affected by an internal pay structure at some point in your work life. That is of course if you have worked for any organization as an employee. There are many factors that go into what an organization will pay for a given job and the value they place on it. Think about your current job or a job that you previously held. Did you ever notice any inconsistencies in the way employees were compensated there? If so, what were those inconsistencies, and how do you think those inconsistencies should be or should have been addressed?
